Installation Overview

Empress Workstation
The Empress Workstation installation installs ONLY the required runtime files. No Empress program files are installed onto the computer. Computers running Windows XP may possibly be able to run the Empress program (not the Empress Master) without this setup as the required files are part of the Windows installation. Computers with older operating systems (Win 95/ 98 2000 etc) will require the installation program if the runtime files have not been installed during other program installations.

Empress Master
The Empress Master installation installs all required runtime files AND the Empress Program files for the programs operation. This option is selected if your are installing a new Empress Numbering System requiring the configuration and data files. The setup routines will install both the Empress Workstation and Empress Master program files.

The installation is required on all computers which will run the Empress Master program.

(It is not necessary to run the Empress Workstation and the Empress Master Installations. All the required files are included in the Empress Master Setup )

Installing from the CD
If you are installing from the installation CD, once the CD is placed into the CD tray, the available installation options will be automatically displayed. Select the Empress Master installation option.

If the auto play option is disabled on your computer, click on the start menu and select run. In the run box type in

"X:\Setup\Empress Master\Setup.exe" for the Empress Master installation or
"X:\Setup\Empress Workstation\Setup.exe" for the Empress Workstation setup

where X denotes the drive letter of your CD ROM. Follow the on screen prompts to install the necessary run time and program files. After installation has been completed, a message box will be displayed informing of that the successful installation has been completed.

Installing from a shared folder or removable disk
Locate the desired setup files to install either Empress or Empress Master. Follow the on screen prompts to install the necessary run time and program files. After installation has been completed, a message box will be displayed informing of that the successful installation has been completed.
