COM Port
The COM Port specifies which communications port Empress uses on the Empress workstations. Select from the drop down list and select the appropriate COM port in use.
Label Width
The label width is used to specify the label stock width of BOTH labels combined width. It is not the individual label width, but the total stock width. The units are millimeters x 10. Therefore if your labels are 40mm wide, then the label width will be 800 plus any gap between the labels if they are a die cut label.
Label Length
The label length is used to notify the printer when to sense a label end position. This value is not as critical as some of the other settings, and a lower value will not stop the printer advancing incorrectly, merely start the detection of the label edge sooner. The units are millimeters x 10, therefore a label which is 35mm across, must be less than 350 to sense the edge correctly. A value too large will likely result in a label advance causing a blank label row to be generated.
Row Offset
The row offset defines how far from the bottom of the label the printing will commence. The units are millimeters x 10, therefore a setting if 15 will cause the labels to print 1.5mm above the base edge
of the label.
Column Offset
The column offset defines how far from the left edge of the label the printing will commence. The units are millimeters x 10, therefore a setting if 20 will cause the labels to print 2.0mm from the left hand side edge of the label.
Feed Label After Print
Enabling this setting notifies the Empress to advance the label stock 1 label forward after printing. This is commonly used to clear the last label from the print head for easy access.
Label Backfeed
Enabling the label backfeed option will instruct the printer to rewind the label stock a preset distance as defined in the printer memory before printing commences. This can be used to mimimise label wastage.
