Test Setup Overview

Menu Screen
To view all the tests that have been setup in a particular screen, select the desired screen from the Menu Screen drop down list box. Clicking on the desired screen will list all the configured tests within that screen in test description order. This function makes it simple to locate a test within any screen layout and then modify the test details within the test list spreadsheet view.

Groups
It may be desirable to list all tests that are to be grouped together from all test selection screens to ensure that all those tests are correctly defined. To list all tests that have been grouped together, select the group number and description from the group drop down list will list all tests from all screens and display them in order number. This allows a quick overview of the test grouping and the order the tests will appear on a barcode if it is created with those tests selected. Tests can then be modified directly in the test list spreadsheet.

Searching For Test
To search for a test, the Test List / Group screen tab must be selected from the setup screen. To locate a test already setup within Empress, their are two methods from which to search. Searching can be performed by test code or by test description. A more detailed procedure of each is outlined below.

Searching by Test Code
Clicking on the Find Code button will prompt for entry for the code to search. Enter the test code details you are searching for into the entry prompt and click OK. Clicking cancel will exit from the search. If the test code entered is found to match any existing test code setup in Empress, it will be displayed in the spreadsheet view. If no matches are found, no tests will be displayed.

Note : Unassigned tests are not included within this search

Search by Test Description
Clicking on the Find Test button will prompt for a test description to search for. Enter the test description in full or any part of, and click OK to perform the search. Empress will search for any test where the pattern of characters matches the search criteria. Therefore a search for details “new” would return any test with the test description of “My new test”, “New”, “New Test”. Note that case is not included in the search criteria. If the test description pattern to be searched for is found to be included in any test configured within Empress, it will be displayed in the spreadsheet view. If no matches are found, no tests will be displayed.

Note : Unassigned tests are not included within this search.

Deleting a Test
To delete a test from the test list spreadsheet, click on the test no longer required. Click on the delete test button and Empress will prompt for confirmation to delete that test. Confirming yes the delete action will remove the test from the tests database. Selecting no will abort the operation.
