Empress supports a wide variety of barcode formats including codabar, code 128 and code 39. Each specimen label can be printed in its own barcode format with custom prefix, suffix or serial label characters. Complete control over font types, sizes and positioning is available to allow the user to arrange the labels into a format that best suits their requirements.

Empress supports both Monarch® and Meto® brands barcode printers via serial port communication.
